Julie Millet is a morning show reporter and fill-in anchor for PIX 11 News in New York City. Reporting and storytelling in her hometown market is a dream come true.

Julie’s journalism journey has taken her across the country to newsrooms and studios in cities like Milwaukee and Philadelphia. Before starting at PIX 11, Julie was an investigative reporter in Norfolk, Virginia.

Julie’s investigative work with WAVY TV produced results. Her discovery of inconsistent data about missing persons cases prompted policy reform. An investigation into a solar panel company’s misleading claims led to several customers getting back more than $20,000 from the company before it shut down. Julie also uncovered new details in national news stories, including a mass shooting at a Walmart which killed 6 people two days before Thanksgiving, and the shooting death of 3 University of Virginia football players by a former teammate.

Before moving to Norfolk, Julie was based in Philadelphia and worked as a freelance reporter for WFMZ-TV, uncovering and telling stories in the country’s 4th largest television market.

Julie briefly left the broadcast news world in 2018 to become the Director of Broadcast Services for nationally ranked, Philadelphia-based public relations firm Gregory FCA. There, she launched the company’s new streaming service, Here & Now video, for which she also was a digital host. Julie also managed a growing video production team, implemented an employee and client on-air training program and redeveloped the company’s media training program, coaching C-Suite clientele to prep them for live broadcast news appearances.

From 2015-2018, Julie was a reporter for CBS 58 in Milwaukee. She joined the team as a morning reporter in 2016, then moved to the dayside team as the lead reporter for the 4:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. broadcasts. In Milwaukee, Julie earned a Wisconsin Broadcasters Award for breaking news coverage of a blimp crash at the US Open in Erin, Wisconsin.

Julie moved to Milwaukee from Augusta, Georgia, where she was a reporter with ABC affiliate WJBF-TV. Memorable stories include covering the Masters Tournament, and completing two days of boot camp Fort Gordon, the city’s military base. For her military coverage, Julie was awarded an honorary commission to 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army for her coverage of the military community.

Born and raised in New York, Julie got her start working for WCBS-TV, the CBS affiliate in New York City, from 2009-2014. She was a digital producer and editor, and helped launch the station’s new website, CBSNewYork.com. She also spent time working in the newsroom for 1010 WINS, one of the country’s top all-news radio stations, and WFAN, the iconic New York sports radio station.

Julie graduated from Providence College, where she was a cheerleader for her beloved Friars. She lives in Westchester, New York, with her husband Joseph, son Jack, and darling Brittany spaniel, Cooley.
